Our Philosophy

Curiosity Corner Preschool believes that children are competent, inquisitive and full of potential. Children are powerful people, full of aspirations and the ability to grow and construct their own knowledge. In the classroom the children are given the freedom to explore and discover through rich art, science, building, music, and dramatic play materials. The children enrolled are not pushed to accomplish, rather offered the tools and materials with which to discover, explore and experience the excitement of learning. The school believes each child has the need and right to an individualized program where his or her own social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs are met.

The Reggio Emilia Philosophy

The philosophy speaks about The One Hundred Languages of Children. This phrase refers to the many ways children are able to express themselves and learn. The aim of the Reggio Emilia approach is to promote children’s education through the development of all their languages; expressive, communicative, symbolic, cognitive, ethical, logical, imaginative and relational. Each child's learning experience is dynamic and unique, it stems from the child's own interests and curiosities. The child is viewed as a researcher trying to answer the questions of life.
